Studio Facilities

My studio is situated near Maidstone in the heart of the Kent coutryside and has grounds of two acres for outside shots. The studio is fully equipped with Courtenay, Bowens and Portaflash studio lighting. I shoot a mix of digital and 35mm film. Digital images are normally available to view after the shoot on my laptop but obviously without any editing.

Test Shoots (Time for Prints)

Unfortunately paid work takes priority to keep the bills being paid so test shoots (TFP) are now very limited. For the right models I am willing to work on a Time for Print basis (TFP) where I provide Prints/CD of digital images in return for the model providing their Time. I then obtain images that can benefit my portfolio and the model receives images to promote themself. TFP also enables new models to obtain work for their portfolio. Strong portfolio images are essential to make you stand out from the crowd!

About Me

I am in my thirties and live in Rainham, Kent UK. I have two young children which creates new opportunities to capture them growing up.
My interest in photography stretches back over 20 years across a wide range of cameras and film formats.

Cameras

I currently mainly shoot with my Canon digital SLR. This allows me to take more images to allow a better selection from a shoot and to experiment more with effects. This camera produces high quality images that can be enlarged to A3 size and beyond should this be required. I also use Pentax 35mm film cameras which I had built up over a number of years prior to moving to digital. Unfortunately Canon released their professional digital camera range before Pentax so I have ended up moving to Canon equipment.

Although I use the digital camera I also still use the 35mm format and then scan the images using my slide scanner or flatbed scanner. These are both a few years old now but still reliable workhorses for this process
